Tree Planting Drive at Balaguru Garden Park in Coimbatore

Coimbatore North Inner Wheel Club and Balaguru Garden Residents' Association jointly organized a tree planting event at Balaguru Garden public park, planting 26 native shade-giving saplings.



Coimbatore: The Coimbatore North Inner Wheel Club and Balaguru Garden Residents' Association joined forces today to conduct a tree planting drive at the Balakuru Garden public park in Ward 26 of Peelamedu area. The event saw the planting of 26 native shade-giving tree saplings, aimed at enhancing the green cover of the locality.

Councilor Chitra Velliangiri led the initiative, which was attended by prominent members of both organizations. Subbaiah, President of Balaguru Garden Residents' Association, and Pariti Kandelwal, President of the Women's Inner Wheel North Association, were present at the event.



Other notable attendees included Gowri Sri Ramalu, Secretary of the Inner Wheel Club, Meena Thyagarajan, Editor, and former presidents Sumathi Gopalakrishnan and Alamelu Senthil. Dr. Kavitha Venugopal and S.P. Velliangiri, the Peelamedu area secretary of DMK's Renaissance wing, also participated in the tree planting ceremony.

The event highlighted the collaborative effort between local residents and social organizations to improve the environmental conditions of the area. The choice of native shade-giving trees is expected to provide long-term benefits to the park and its visitors.



This initiative aligns with Coimbatore's ongoing efforts to increase its green cover and promote sustainable urban development. The involvement of community leaders and residents in such activities demonstrates a growing awareness of environmental issues and a commitment to local action.
