Coimbatore: City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan inaugurated the renovated Motor Vehicle Wing office building at the PRS Complex in Coimbatore.

The century-old structure, located near the parade ground, has been given a new lease of life while preserving its historical significance.

The renovation project not only focused on restoring the main building but also added new facilities for the comfort and convenience of police personnel.

Behind the main structure, a rest room for police officers, a room for musical instruments, electrical rooms, and new toilets have been constructed.

During the event, Commissioner Balakrishnan interacted with the police personnel and explained the rationale behind renovating the old building instead of demolishing it. He emphasized the importance of preserving historical structures and adapting them to modern needs.

The Police Commissioner highlighted that the newly added facilities, including the rest rooms and toilets near the parade ground area, would be particularly beneficial for police personnel undergoing training. He specifically mentioned that these amenities would be especially useful for women police officers, addressing a long-standing need.

This renovation project demonstrates the Coimbatore City Police's commitment to preserving its heritage while simultaneously improving the working conditions for its personnel. The revamped Motor Vehicle Wing office is expected to enhance operational efficiency while providing a comfortable environment for the police force.
