Government Exhibition at VOC Grounds Extended for Two More Days

The Government Exhibition at VOC Grounds in Coimbatore, which began on May 25, 2024, has been extended for two more days until July 14, 2024. The exhibition showcases government schemes and has attracted over 1.6 lakh visitors.


Coimbatore: The Government Exhibition at VOC Grounds in Coimbatore, which was scheduled to conclude on July 12, 2024, has been extended for two more days, announced District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati. The exhibition, which began on May 25, 2024, will now remain open to the public until July 14, 2024.

The 45-day exhibition features 34 stalls, including 27 government departments and 7 government-affiliated organizations. It aims to showcase various government welfare schemes and provide information to the public about how to access these benefits from relevant departments.

In addition to informative displays about government initiatives, the exhibition also includes entertainment elements for visitors. Since May 29, 2024, an entry fee has been implemented, with adults charged Rs. 15 and children Rs. 10.

As of July 10, 2024, the exhibition has attracted a total of 1,60,048 visitors over 43 days, including 1,30,615 adults and 29,433 children. The event has generated a revenue of Rs. 22,53,555 for the government through entry fees. Thousands of people continue to visit the exhibition daily.

The decision to extend the exhibition for two more days, including the weekend of July 13 (Saturday) and July 14 (Sunday), was made to allow more people to benefit from the informative displays and enjoy the event. Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati stated that the exhibition will officially conclude on July 14, 2024.

The extension provides an additional opportunity for residents of Coimbatore and surrounding areas to learn about government schemes and enjoy the various attractions at the VOC Grounds. Visitors are encouraged to make use of this extended period to explore the exhibition and gain valuable information about government initiatives and services available to them.
