Coimbatore: The Pollachi police have arrested three individuals for selling lottery tickets in different locations within the town. The arrests were made on July 7, following tip-offs and surprise checks conducted by the local law enforcement.

Thangaraj (46) from Mecheri, Salem, was apprehended near the Nallur forest area check post in Pollachi for selling lottery tickets. The police confiscated 37 lottery tickets from his possession. In a separate incident, Kanagaraj (72), a resident of Chinnampalayam, Pollachi, was caught selling lottery tickets at the Chinnampalayam bus stop. The police seized 24 lottery tickets and Rs. 200 in cash from him.

In another case, the Pollachi West police received information about the sale of banned Kerala state lottery tickets in the Kumaran Nagar area. Acting on this tip, they conducted a surprise check on July 7.
