Masked Intruders Attempt Theft at Electric Goods Store in Coimbatore

CCTV footage reveals two masked individuals attempting to rob an electric goods store in Chinnavedampatti, Coimbatore, during the late hours of the night. The incident has prompted a police investigation.

Coimbatore: In a brazen attempt at theft, two masked individuals were caught on CCTV cameras trying to rob an electric goods store in the Chinnavedampatti area of Coimbatore. The incident, which occurred in the dead of night, has raised concerns about security in the area.

The target of the attempted robbery was "Iyodom Electric," a store selling electrical goods located in the Athipalayam region of Chinnavedampatti. Sathyamoorthy, a resident of Palladam in Tirupur district, has been working as the manager of this establishment for the past five years.

Typically, the store closes at 7:00 PM and reopens at 9:00 AM the following day. However, when Sathyamoorthy arrived at the store this morning to open it as usual, he was shocked to find the CCTV cameras turned in different directions.

Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, it was discovered that around 1:30 AM, two masked individuals had scaled the wall and entered the premises, attempting to steal goods worth approximately 2 lakh rupees.

Sathyamoorthy has filed a complaint at the Saravanampatti Police Station regarding the incident. In his complaint, he stated that the masked individuals were unable to complete the theft but had damaged the gate in their attempt. He requested the police to file a case against the culprits and take necessary action. Additionally, he asked for increased night patrols in the area where the store is located.

Based on the complaint, the Saravanampatti Police have registered a case and are currently searching for the masked thieves who attempted the late-night robbery. The incident has highlighted the need for enhanced security measures in commercial areas during nighttime hours.
