2000 Liters of Methanol Hoarded Near Panruti; Petrol Bunk Sealed

CBCID police investigating Kallakurichi poisonous liquor incident discovered 2000 liters of methanol hoarded in a defunct petrol bunk near Panruti. The petrol bunk has been temporarily sealed.

Coimbatore: In a shocking revelation, the CBCID police investigating the Kallakurichi poisonous liquor incident have uncovered a large-scale methanol hoarding operation near Panruti. The discovery was made during the interrogation of Madesh, who was arrested in connection with the Kallakurichi incident.

During custody interrogation, Madesh provided startling information that led the CBCID team to a defunct petrol bunk in the Veeraperumanallur area. According to sources, approximately 2000 liters of methanol were found hidden in the underground petrol tank of the non-operational petrol bunk.

Upon receiving this information, the CBCID team promptly visited the location to conduct an on-site investigation. The officials were stunned to find the substantial quantity of methanol concealed beneath the petrol bunk premises. As a precautionary measure, the CBCID has temporarily sealed the petrol bunk pending further investigation.

This discovery has raised serious concerns about the potential misuse of methanol in the production of illicit liquor. The authorities are now investigating the supply chain and possible connections to other illegal liquor manufacturing units in the region.

The sealing of the petrol bunk and the uncovering of this large quantity of methanol marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the Kallakurichi poisonous liquor tragedy. Further details are awaited as the CBCID continues its probe into this alarming development.
