Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Commissioner Reviews 24-Hour Water Supply and Sewage Projects

Commissioner M. Shivaguru Prabhakaran inspected ongoing 24-hour water supply and sewage projects in East Zone of Coimbatore Municipal Corporation on June 27, 2024, including major pipeline installations and road maintenance.


Coimbatore: In a comprehensive field inspection on June 27, 2024, Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Commissioner M. Shivaguru Prabhakaran reviewed several critical infrastructure projects within the East Zone areas. The Commissioner personally visited the sites to ensure the rapid progression of the 24-hour water supply and underground sewage system projects handled by SUEZ company.



This field supervision included the laying of main water pipes at important localities such as Ramnathapuram Signal and Singanallur, where he directed officials to expedite the clearing of accumulated soil on roadsides to facilitate immediate completion of the water supply projects.



Moreover, the Commissioner also focused on the ongoing sewer project at Ondipudur, where he assessed the effectiveness of newly installed high-speed breakers near the FCI Godown area in Gandhi Nagar, proposing adjustments to their height to optimize road safety.



During his visits, Commissioner Prabhakaran also evaluated new project sites owned by the municipality in Kongu Nagar within the Central Zone, emphasizing the need for timely execution of development plans to enhance local amenities.



The inspection also extended to the structural enhancements of the Ondipudur Municipal Elementary School and Ramanathapuram Municipal High School along Trichy Road, underlining the importance of upgrading educational infrastructures to provide better facilities for students.



Accompanying the Commissioner were Deputy Commissioner Dr. S. Selvasurabi, North Zone Head Ve. Kathirvel, Chief Municipal Engineer Anbalagan, Assistant Highway Engineer Muralikumar, and other key municipal and SUEZ company officials, ensuring a collaborative approach towards improving civic amenities in Coimbatore.
