Protest Demands Regulation of Two-Wheeler Rental Services in Coimbatore

Over 100 people gathered for a protest organized by Thiran Thozhirsanga Peravai outside the Coimbatore South Tahsildar office, demanding a ban on two-wheeler rental services citing safety and impact on traditional transport operators.


Coimbatore: A sizable protest was held outside the Coimbatore South Tahsildar office, organized by the Thiran Thozhirsanga Peravai, critiquing the operation of two-wheeler rental services within the city. The demonstrators claim these services pose a threat to public safety and have adversely affected the livelihoods of traditional auto and taxi rental operators. More than 100 individuals participated in this protest, vocalizing their concerns and urging state and central government actions.



Moreover, they have solicited swift development on the Avinashi road maintenance and traffic management to ease congestion. Reductions in toll charges and the regulation of rental vehicle operations to safeguard the interests and welfare of the motor vehicle labor force were also emphasized.
