Chief Minister Attends Grand DMK Festival in Coimbatore, Arrives by Charter Flight

Chief Minister MK Stalin arrived in Coimbatore by charter flight to attend the grand DMK festival. Preparations are in full swing with party leaders and alliance members gathering in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: In an impressive political gathering, the city of Coimbatore is currently hosting the grand DMK Festival on Avinashi Road at the Codissia Grounds. Chief Minister MK Stalin, along with ministers Udhayanidhi Stalin, Duraimurugan, and all winning DMK MPs and allies from the 40 constituencies, are participating.

The festival marks the centenary celebrations of late leader Karunanidhi and the start of his 101st year. Preparations began early, with stages set up to accommodate the event’s esteemed guests and nearly one lakh seats arranged for party members. Two statues of Karunanidhi, each standing approximately eight feet tall, have been erected on the stage to honor the leader’s memory.

Security is tight, with over 10,000 police officers deployed from across Tamil Nadu to manage the crowd. A temporary control room has been installed near the stage for security coordination. Traffic on Avinashi Road has been rerouted, with alternate routes advised through L&T Bypass connecting to Trichy Road, and vehicles can travel via Shakti Road or Puravipalayam Road.
