Coimbatore: Following the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's announcements, Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin conducted an inspection on June 14, 2024, at the proposed site for an international cricket stadium equipped with modern facilities in Ondipudur.

The inspection was attended by notable dignitaries including Ministers for Housing and Urban Development S. Muthusamy, Industries Minister T.R.B. Raja, Additional Chief Secretary of Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department Atulya Misra, IAS, Secretary of Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority Meganatha Reddy, IAS, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, IAS, Municipal Commissioner Ma. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, IAS, Coimbatore MP Ganapathi B. Rajkumar, City Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, Deputy Mayor Ra. Vetriselvan, and other government officials. The project aims to boost sports infrastructure and youth engagement in the region.
