Notorious Thief Caught on CCTV, Arrested in Dharapuram

In Dharapuram, Tirupur District, a notorious thief was arrested following CCTV footage capturing his involvement in a motorcycle theft. The stolen vehicle was recovered, and the thief is now under further investigation.


Coimbatore: Dharapuram police have successfully apprehended a well-known thief following a string of vehicle thefts, with the latest incident involving a Hero Honda Splendor stolen on the 2nd of this month from Anna Nagar. Following the homeowner's complaint, a specialized team was formed under the supervision of Deputy Inspector Kalaiyarasan and led by Inspector Ravi. Assistant Inspectors Muthukumar, Sivaraj, and lead constables Rajan, Kalaiselvan, and Balasubramaniam were integral in recovering the stolen motorcycle through strategic deployment and relentless pursuit.






Further investigations led the Dharapuram Crime Division to enhance their operation, including cooperative efforts in nearby Udumalpet where a similar vehicle theft was reported. Specialized CCTV analysis by the Udumalpet police helped identify the suspect, 22-year-old Pandiswaran from Kadamaikundu, Theni District. Upon arrest, Pandiswaran confessed to stealing the motorcycle, and the vehicle was subsequently recovered and seized. Following his confession, the perpetrator has been detained at the Tirupur District Jail, awaiting further proceedings.
