Salem Railway Division announces a special train running between Tambaram and Mangalore via Podanur from June 7 to July 1, on Fridays and Sundays.
Coimbatore: In a recent announcement by the Salem Railway Division, a special train service has been introduced on the Podanur route connecting Tambaram in Chennai to Mangalore. According to the statement, this service will commence from June 7 and will run until June 30, operating every Friday and Sunday. The train (No: 06047) will leave Tambaram at 1:55 PM and reach Mangalore Railway Station the following morning at 6:55 AM.
On the return journey, starting from June 8 to July 1, the Mangalore – Tambaram special train (No: 06048) will depart Mangalore on Saturdays and Mondays at 12:00 PM, arriving at Tambaram the next morning at 4:45 AM.
The train will make stops at major stations including Kasaragod, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Ottapalam, Palakkad, Podanur, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Perambur, and Egmore among others, providing connectivity across these significant points.
On the return journey, starting from June 8 to July 1, the Mangalore – Tambaram special train (No: 06048) will depart Mangalore on Saturdays and Mondays at 12:00 PM, arriving at Tambaram the next morning at 4:45 AM.
