District Collector Authorizes Silt Removal from Bhavani Sagar Dam

Coimbatore District Collector has permitted the removal of silt from Bhavani Sagar Dam, responding to requests from local farmers for agricultural purposes.


Coimbatore: In a significant decision for the farming community, District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has granted permission to remove silt from the Bhavani Sagar Dam. The directive will benefit agricultural practices in the surrounding areas, addressing long-standing demands by local farmers. The sanctioned locations within the Mettupalayam sub-district, such as Irumparai village, encompass Vorthurai, Anaithurai, Mayilmokkai, and Icchipaazhi. Furthermore, the farmers are directed to coordinate with the Mettupalayam sub-collector for further procedural guidance.
