Fatal Assault Incident: Petition Filed to close down and revoke license of KMCH Hospital in Coimbatore

A petition has been filed by a person named Raghunath at the Coimbatore District Health Office, demanding the closure of KMCH Hospital after an incident where an individual was fatally assaulted by hospital staff and security guards.


Coimbatore: In a recent event that shocked the community, a man named Raja was reportedly assaulted by staff and security guards at KMCH Hospital, ultimately leading to his death.

On May 29, eight individuals, including hospital security personnel and administrators of KMCH hospital located on Avinashi road were arrested in connection to the murder case and were placed in Coimbatore Central Jail.

Following this tragic event, a petition was filed today, May 30, by a local resident named Raghunath at the Coimbatore District Health and Family Welfare Deputy Director's office. The petitioner emphasized the intolerance of such an incident at a healthcare facility, which is supposed to safeguard lives.

Raghunath queried the actions taken by the medical department and urged for strict measures, including the revocation of the hospital's license and its eventual closure. He criticized the management of healthcare facilities, pointing out that such incidents bring disrepute not only to the hospital but to Tamil Nadu's healthcare system in general.
