Green Snake Spotted Climbing Steps at Sivanmalai Temple, Video Goes Viral

Tirupur: In a striking incident at the Sivanmalai Subramaniya Swami Temple in Kangayam, Tirupur District, a green snake was observed ascending the temple steps as devotees climbed alongside it. This unusual sight quickly captured attention and the video of it has since gone viral on social media platforms.



The temple, renowned for its religious significance, often draws thousands of devotees daily. During the incident, which happened the day before yesterday, the roughly five-foot-long snake made its way up the stairs, causing both alarm and fascination among the temple visitors. While some retreated in fear, others stayed to watch the spectacle unfold.

Following the event, the snake changed its direction and slithered into the bushes and vines of the surrounding hill, escaping from the public eye.



The video capturing this scene went viral online, further heightening public interest. Devotees and environmental enthusiasts present during the episode urged forest department officials to ensure such wildlife encounters are safely managed to protect both the animals and the public.

The temple is under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and is surrounded by a rich variety of flora and fauna, which includes various reptiles, mammals, and birds, contributing to its ecological diversity.
