In Dharapuram near Palani Bypass, Prohibition Enforcement seized 3 kg of illegally carried ganja. North Indian origin worker, Sabila Kumar, was arrested during the operation.
Dharapuram: Following an anonymous tip-off about illegal ganja sales near the Palani Bypass in Dharapuram, the Prohibition Enforcement Wing sprang into action under the leadership of Inspector Kovarthananbikai. The team conducted surveillance in the area and intercepted Sabila Kumar, whose suspicious behavior warranted further investigation.

Upon further questioning at the station, Sabila Kumar, 27, revealed his employment as a security worker in a private mill in Avinashi M.Nathampalayam and his involvement in periodic cannabis procurement from Odisha for resale in areas populated by North Indian workers in Tirupur, Erode, and Dharapuram. Today, Sabila was caught distributing ganja to these workers on the Palani Bypass road in Dharapuram. The team seized 3 kilograms of ganja from him and placed him under arrest, following which he was detained in jail.
