Coimbatore: In a disturbing incident, a man was arrested for issuing a death threat to a police constable in Coimbatore. Constable Rajendran, aged 46, stationed at the Goundampalayam police station, faced a severe threat to his life during his duty.
On May 14, while delivering a court warrant to a criminal in Saibaba Colony, the accused, along with another police officer, was verbally abused and threatened with murder. Following this incident, a complaint was lodged at the Saibaba Colony police station.
Police registered a case and arrested 22-year-old Madhavan, also known as Tomato Madhavan, from Indira Nagar, Goundampalayam. He is charged under three sections, including threatening to kill and obstructing a government official from doing his duty.
