Copra Sales Generate Over 27 Lakh at Anaimalai Regulated Market

Copra auction in Anaimalai's regulated market witnessed on May 14, involving 90 farmers and yielding sales worth Rs. 27.24 lakh for 320.54 quintals.


Coimbatore: In the latest developments at the Anaimalai Regulated Market, the regular copra auction took place this Tuesday and Thursday, generating a significant turnover. On May 14, following the regular schedule, the auction saw active participation from the local agricultural community.

90 farmers from the Anaimalai area brought a total of 682 bags of copra for sale. During the auction, 338 bags of first-grade copra reached a maximum price of Rs. 9,625 per quintal, while 344 bags of second-grade copra sold for up to Rs. 8,210 per quintal. Overall, a total of 320.54 quintals of copra were sold, accumulating a substantial sum of Rs. 27.24 lakh.

The event highlights the thriving agricultural activity in the region, supporting local farmers and contributing to the local economy through structured market processes.
