Savukku Shankar, facing multiple legal cases, was transferred to Coimbatore and lodged in the Central Jail after a court appearance in Chennai. Further investigations are underway.
Coimbatore: In a recent turn of events, Savukku Shankar, the chief executive officer of a YouTube channel named 'Savukku', was arrested once again and remanded in Coimbatore Central Prison. The arrest, made by the Coimbatore Cyber Crime Police on the 4th, was initially due to defamation charges pertaining to inappropriate remarks about police officers. Following his court appearance, he was detained at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
Further complications arose when Theni's Palanisettipatti Police registered a case against Shankar for possession of Ganja. Subsequently, additional cases have been registered in various locations including Trichy and Chennai. The Theni police, along with officers from Chennai and Trichy who dealt with the defamation cases, sequentially arrested Shankar.
Most recently, police brought Shankar to Chennai for further inquiries. After appearing in court there, he was returned to Coimbatore on the morning of May 11 and again placed in Coimbatore Central Prison.
