Development Plans for Narikuravar Colony Housing in Dharapuram

In Dharapuram, a significant housing project for the Narikuravar community is set to commence, with an allocation of Rs. 1.55 crores aimed at building new homes under the Scheduled Tribes Development Scheme.

Tirupur: In a significant development for the Narikuravar community in Dharapuram, the Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned Rs. 1.55 crore for housing construction. This initiative falls under the Scheduled Tribes Development Scheme for the fiscal year 2023-2024. The announcement was made following a thorough inspection by Coimbatore District Collector T Christuraj and other local officials. The project will replace 31 dilapidated houses built 15 years ago in the C. Ammapatti area of Goundachipuram Village.

The replacement houses are aimed at improving living conditions by providing modern amenities and ensuring durable construction standards. Before the commencement of construction, the existing damaged houses will be demolished, paving the way for new structures. This initiative not only aims to provide safer homes but also to revitalize the area by introducing improved infrastructure.

The inspection and subsequent approval of the project were carried out by T Christuraj, ensuring all preliminary assessments such as land measurement and safety evaluations are in place.

Local leaders, including the village council members and revenue officials, have also played an active role in kickstarting the project by cleaning up the site and preparing it for development.

The community, having lived under challenging conditions for years, has expressed relief and anticipation for their new homes, expected to bring substantial improvement to their quality of life. With the government's direct involvement and funding, the project is set to commence swiftly, aiming for completion within the stipulated timelines.
