Summer Heritage Camp for Children in Coimbatore Concludes

A 15-day summer camp organized at Arshavidyalaya, Marudamalai for children aged 7-15, focusing on Vedic heritage, concluded in Coimbatore. The camp featured activities including Ganesh puja, spoken Sanskrit, and Bhagawad Gita chanting.

Coimbatore: The 15-day "Summer Heritage Camp," aimed at familiarizing children aged 7-15 with India's Vedic heritage, concluded successfully on Sunday at Arshavidyalaya, Marudamalai. The valedictory function saw Swami Sadatmananda Saraswati, Chief Acharya of Arshavidya Gurukulam, Anaikatti, addressing the children. He emphasized that, "Four factors are required for success in any field – opportunity, effort, Isvara’s grace, and elders' blessings. You are all fortunate to have all these factors working in your favor."

The curriculum of the camp was rich with traditional practices; children were taught how to properly conduct Ganesh puja, as well as basic spoken Sanskrit, grammar, and the correct chanting of Bhagawad Gita among other shlokas. Over the past two weeks, each child performed individual puja to Lord Ganesh, and were encouraged to continue this practice at their homes.

Adding to the program, Swami Ganeshaswarupananda Saraswati, another distinguished Acharya at Arshavidyalaya, highlighted the broader goal of the camp. “These children are part of a five-year program named Samskritena Samskrtih (SSAS), designed to prepare them to excel in their chosen fields with a healthy pride and confidence in their own Samskriti,” he explained.

The camp not only focused on spiritual and religious education but also aimed to build a strong foundation of confidence and cultural pride among the participants.
