Coimbatore: The iconic clock tower at Mettupalayam bus stand, a landmark of the area, was demolished yesterday. This demolition is part of the ongoing construction for a new building project at the bus station, which began last month with an estimated cost of Rs. 8.63 crore.

As the construction progresses, old commercial complexes within the bus station premises are being demolished using JCB machines. The video of the clock tower being brought down by a JCB has captured significant attention and is currently spreading rapidly across various social media platforms.
