Near Chinna Thadagam bus stop in Coimbatore, two persons, including a woman, were arrested with 12 kg of ganja valued at Rs. 1,20,000 on May 5.
Coimbatore: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Coimbatore police detained two individuals, including a woman, for possessing and transporting 12 kilograms of ganja. The operation was part of the ongoing effort to create a drug-free Coimbatore.
On May 5, based on confidential information regarding the transportation of cannabis, a special police team conducted a vehicle inspection near the Chinna Thadagam bus stop. The suspects, Murugan (69) from Kerala and Nisha Fathima (55), were found transporting the substance. The ganja seized from them is estimated to be worth Rs. 1,20,000. They were subsequently incarcerated following the seizure.
