YouTuber Savukku Shankar Arrested, Cannabis Case Filed

YouTuber Savukku Shankar was arrested for allegedly defaming police officers on social media. Following his arrest in Theni, a cannabis case was registered against him.


Coimbatore: In a significant development, YouTuber Savukku Shankar was arrested today due to allegations of defaming police officials on social media platforms. The arrest was made by the Coimbatore City Cyber Crime Police, who took Shankar from Theni to Coimbatore. During the transit near Dharapuram, the police vehicle met with an accident, resulting in minor injuries to Shankar and some police personnel. After recovering from the incident, Shankar was brought to Coimbatore and presented in court.

In a subsequent investigation, police filed a cannabis case against Shankar. Reportedly, half a kilogram of cannabis was seized from his car by the Theni District Police at Palanichettipatti. Along with Shankar, two others who were with him at the time were also interrogated and reportedly admitted to possessing cannabis. This legal trouble adds a new layer of complexity to Shankar's already contentious situation.
