Free Buttermilk Distribution at Ukkadam Athar Mosque Amid Rising Heat in Coimbatore

Amidst increasing heat in Coimbatore, Ukkadam Athar Mosque has started distributing free buttermilk to the public and worshippers post-Jumma prayers on May 3 to alleviate heat stress.

Coimbatore: As the temperature in Coimbatore continues to rise, various initiatives to combat the harsh summer heat are being implemented across the city. One such initiative is the setting up of buttermilk stalls, which has become a welcome respite for the public.

In the bustling area of Ukkadam, the Athar Mosque Administration has taken a commendable step by distributing free buttermilk to both the worshippers attending the Jumma prayers and the general public. This initiative, carried out on May 3, saw a large turnout, with community leaders including Amanullah, Secretary Peer Mohammad, and Treasurer Bakir Mohammad, actively participating in the distribution.

The refreshment stand not only offered a relief from the heat but also provided a moment of community bonding. Men, women, and children from various walks of life gathered, enjoying the soothing drink which is known for its cooling properties. “It's just not about quenching thirst, but it's about coming together as a community in difficult times,” a local resident shared.
