Coimbatore: The Sri Maha MahaKaliyamman Temple located in Mettupalayam recently commenced its grand annual festival. The festival began with traditional rites and quickly escalated into a vibrant display of local arts and devotion.


Following the flag hoisting ceremony, the festival's highlight was the fire dance performed by devotees around the sanctified post. This occurred on May 1 and was met with enthusiastic participation from the community. Devotees danced around and paid homage to the goddess, which was followed by a spectacular display of Karakattam.
