Coimbatore District Collector Inspects EVM Storage Facility

District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati visited and inspected the EVM storage facility at a Government College of Technology in Coimbatore's Thadagam Road on May 1, 2024.


Coimbatore: In a significant administrative action, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati visited the electronic voting machine (EVM) storage facility housed within a Government College of Technology on Thadagam Road. The EVMs, used in the recent Coimbatore parliamentary constituency elections, are securely stored in the strong room facility here.

Security measures are stringent, with armed paramilitary forces stationed around the clock. Additionally, the Tamil Nadu Special Police and local police are also actively involved in the security duties. Apart from these measures, the entire college premises are surveilled continuously with 265 surveillance cameras monitored constantly from a central control room.



During his visit, District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati meticulously reviewed the operational status of the security systems, particularly the surveillance cameras, to ensure that they were functioning properly.



He inquired about the camera operations with the police officers present on site.

This inspection emphasizes the rigorous security protocols in place to safeguard the integrity of the voting machines ahead of upcoming analyses and decisions related to electoral processes in the region.
