Young Man Killed in Moped-Truck Collision in Coimbatore

A 19-year-old man, Franklin Varghese, died in a tragic collision between a moped and a truck near Vellakinar Road, Coimbatore. The incident occurred on April 29, prompting investigations by local traffic police.


Coimbatore: In a heartbreaking incident, a young man lost his life in a vehicular collision in Coimbatore. Franklin Varghese, 19, of Gandhi Nagar, Selva Vinayagar Street, was riding with his friend Vasantha Kumar, 18, on a moped last night, April 29.


As they neared the weighbridge on Vellakinar Road, an oncoming truck unexpectedly collided with their moped. The impact threw Franklin Varghese off the moped, leading to fatal injuries that resulted in his death at the scene.


Vasantha Kumar suffered serious injuries and was rescued by passers-by who rushed him to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for immediate medical attention.


The Coimbatore West Traffic Investigation police have registered a case regarding the accident and are currently conducting an inquiry to understand the circumstances leading to this fatal mishap.
