High Court Orders Implementation of E-Pass System for Ooty and Kodaikanal from May 7 to June 30

The High Court has directed the district officials of Nilgiris and Dindigul to implement an e-pass system from May 7 to June 30 to manage the influx of tourists in Ooty and Kodaikanal.

Coimbatore: Responding to the need to regulate the large gatherings of tourists in the popular hill stations of Ooty and Kodaikanal, the High Court has mandated the implementation of an e-pass system effective from May 7 to June 30. This decision aims to streamline the management of tourist entries during the peak season.

Local authorities in Nilgiris and Dindigul districts have been instructed to enforce this system, with the Tamil Nadu government tasked to provide the necessary technological support. Additionally, the court has ordered that local residents be exempt from this e-pass requirement and stressed the need for nationwide publicity to ensure tourists are well informed about these new regulations.
