Currently, buses ply through Mettupalayam from various surrounding areas including Tirupur, Coimbatore, and Erode. However, the surge in tourists has led to severe seating shortages, causing discomfort for many travelers. This situation has prompted public demand for an increase in bus services to Ooty, especially since many have to stand during their journey from Mettupalayam due to lack of seats. The community has officially placed a request for additional buses on April 28, hoping to ease the travel hassles faced during this peak tourist season.
