Four Arrested for Possession of Narcotics in Kulathupalayam, Coimbatore

On April 25, four individuals were arrested in Kulathupalayam, Coimbatore, for possession of 7.5 grams of narcotics and 170 grams of cannabis during a patrol conducted by Kuniyamuthur police.


Coimbatore: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Coimbatore's Kuniyamuthur police arrested four men for possessing illegal narcotics in the Kulathupalayam area. The operation was led by Inspector Manivannan and Sub-Inspector Manikandan, who were patrolling near a soap factory when they noticed suspicious activities. Upon inspection, the officials found 7.5 grams of a narcotic substance and 170 grams of cannabis with the suspects.

Following the arrest, the suspects were identified as Kishore Kumar (27) from Kuniyamuthur's Vijayalakshmi Mill area, Gautham (27) from JJ Nagar, Gokul (23) from Chennai, and Vishnu Udaya (24) from Thiruvananthapuram. During further investigation, authorities confiscated three mobile phones and the confiscated drugs from them. The arrested individuals were later presented in court and subsequently remanded to Coimbatore jail pending further legal proceedings.
