Public Outcry Over Substandard Road Construction in Peedampalli

In Peedampalli, Coimbatore, residents complain about the poor quality of road construction carried out by the Highway Department. A video showing the easily crumbled road surface has gone viral.


Coimbatore: In an escalating concern over civic infrastructure, residents of Peedampalli in Sulur Taluk are raising their voices against the substandard road construction work undertaken by the Highway Department. According to locals, the quality of the newly laid road is so poor that it can be crumbled by hand. They have expressed their dissatisfaction through a video which showcases the road's poor condition. This video has spread across social media platforms since April 27, becoming a viral sensation and bringing to light the questionable construction practices in the area.

The residents have appealed to the higher authorities to take immediate corrective measures to address the shoddy workmanship which not only poses a risk to vehicle safety but also casts a shadow over the credibility of the government infrastructure projects. Further scrutiny and accountability from the relevant authorities are eagerly anticipated by the local community.
