Udumalai Mariamman Temple Chariot Festival Draws Devotees in Floral Splendour

In anticipation of the Chariot Festival at Mariamman Temple in Udumalai, the deity paraded in a floral-decorated Rishaba vehicle, providing sacred sightings to the gathered devotees.

Coimbatore: The Mariamman Temple in Udumalai, part of Tiruppur district, has been a site of deep spiritual activity and devotion as the Chariot Festival proceeds. Every evening at approximately 7 PM, the deity Mariamman along with Sooladevar is taken out on various vehicles for devotee sightings.

Following this tradition, last night saw Mariamman graciously adorning a Rishaba vehicle intricately decorated with flowers. A large number of devotees participated in the parade to offer their worship and fulfill their vows. Among the participants, one devotee notably performed a ritualistic piercing as an act of devotion during the procession.

The route of the parade started from the temple, moving through Udumalai-Pollachi Road, Thali Road, Sadhasivam Street, and finally looping back to the temple via Thangammal Odai Pathway, blessing all the devotees along this path.
