Woman lodges dowry harassment complaint

Perur All Women Police have registered a case against an ISRO employee, his mother and brother based on a complaint lodged by his wife that the three harassed her demanding more dowry. The Police said that K. Priya of Krishnagiri had lodged a complaint saying that her husband D. Kumaresan (36) of Ramasamy Nagar, Vadavalli, mother-in-law D. Saraswathy and brother-in-law D. Balaji harassed her.

Assaulted

At the time of wedding, her family had given gold weighing 300 sovereign, Rs. 3 lakh in cash and much more. Notwithstanding the dowry, her in-laws continued to demand more, Ms.Priya had told the police and also added that at the instance of her in-laws, Kumaresan had also physically assaulted her. The police said that they inquiring into the complaint.

Kumaresan worked for the Indian Space Research Organisation in Tiruvananthapuram.
