Human Chain Protest in Coimbatore Against DMK Government for "Failing to Curb Drug Movement in Tamil Nadu"

A human chain protest was organized in Coimbatore by AIADMK, led by North Coimbatore Rural District Secretary and Kavundampalayam MLA P.R.G. Arunkumar, condemning the DMK government's failure to control the movement of narcotics, labeling Tamil Nadu as the capital of drug smuggling.

Coimbatore: A human chain protest was held in Coimbatore, targeting the DMK government for its alleged negligence in curbing the narcotics trade, escalating law and order issues, and positioning Tamil Nadu as a hub for drug smuggling. This demonstration, directed by AIADMK General Secretary and opposition leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami, took place across municipal, town, and village council areas in North Coimbatore Rural District.

The protest, notably in the areas of Periyanayakkanpalayam, Narasimhanaickenpalayam, and Thudiyalur, was spearheaded by North Coimbatore Rural District Secretary and Kavundampalayam MLA P.R.G. Arunkumar. Participants raised voices against the DMK government, demanding immediate action to combat the drug menace that has brought disrepute to Tamil Nadu on a national scale.

The initiative saw active participation from several AIADMK party administrators, including Union Secretary K.V.N. Jayaraman, Town Secretaries Gurunathasalam, Raghunathan, Ramadass, Youth Wing Joint Secretary Sasikumar, and many more. The protest aimed to rally public support and pressure the state government into taking decisive steps against the widespread drug trafficking.

Leaders such as Town Secretary Anandan at Narasimhanaickenpalayam bus stop and others across the region formed human chains, emphasizing the urgent need for effective law enforcement and policy measures to dismantle the networks of drug smuggling that tarnish the state's image.

This gathering also served as a platform to remind the public of AIADMK's commitment to law, order, and social welfare, contrasting the current government's perceived inaction. The large turnout of party officials, members, and citizens underscored the community's concern over the growing drug-related issues in Tamil Nadu.
