Residents of Vadamadurai Periya Thottam Raise Concern Over Public Drinking of Alcohol

Residents of Vadamadurai Periya Thottam, Kayalvizhi Garden, express distress over the frequent public consumption of alcohol by men at the area’s entrance, affecting the daily commute of school and college students and working women.

Coimbatore: The peaceful daily life of approximately 25 families residing in Vadamadurai Periya Thottam, Kayalvizhi Garden, has been disturbed by an ongoing issue concerning public drinking.

The community has voiced significant concerns regarding groups of men consuming alcohol along the roadside at the entrance of their locality, creating an unsettling environment during both day and night.

This troubling behavior poses a considerable challenge for the many school and college-going students and office-going women living in the area, who find their daily commute to the main road fraught with discomfort and safety concerns due to the presence of inebriated individuals.

The residents urgently call for attention to this matter, seeking intervention from local authorities to curb the public consumption of alcohol and restore the sense of safety and accessibility that their community deserves. They hope for swift action to be taken, ensuring that the public spaces around their homes remain welcoming and secure for everyone, especially the younger and more vulnerable members of their community.
