Another worker, Mari Muthu, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Coimbatore Government Hospital. Dinesh and Mari Muthu were working as temporary sanitation workers in the Veerapandi Panchayat, with Dinesh also serving as a driver.
The accident happened today opposite the Panchayat office in Amman Nagar, where Dinesh and Mari Muthu were unloading flex iron frames. Unexpectedly, they came into contact with an electric shock that instantly killed Dinesh at the scene.
Mari Muthu, who was injured during the incident, was promptly rescued by bystanders and admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for medical treatment. The Periyanayakanpalayam police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation into the accident.
