Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar Inspects Sanitation and Water Supply Works in North Coimbatore

Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and Commissioner M.A. Sivaguru Prabhakaran conducted inspections on sanitation and water supply works in North Coimbatore on February 19, 2024, advising on waste management and checking on the progress of ongoing projects.


Coimbatore: Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and Coimbatore City Municipal Commissioner M.A. Sivaguru Prabhakaran today undertook an inspection of sanitation and water supply works in the northern regions of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation. Their visit, particularly to Maniyakarampalayam area under Ward No. 12, was to oversee the sanitation workers in action and advise them on proper waste segregation and disposal to raise public awareness.



Further, they examined the stormwater drain construction and the ongoing Billur water supply enhancement works in Nanjai Goundan Pudur area, under the purview of Ward No. 12. They also reviewed the main water pipeline installation under the 24-hour water supply scheme in Ranga Nagar.

Additionally, the Mayor and Commissioner visited Vivekanandar Street, Ramakrishnapuram, and Sri Vari residential area under Ward No. 19. They advised the residents on waste segregation and directed officials to fine those not complying with waste disposal norms. They also inspected a new tar road construction site in Sivasakthi Nagar and Maruthi Nagar under Ward No. 11.



The inspection was attended by council members, assistant commissioners, assistant engineers, health inspectors, and other officials, highlighting a collaborative effort towards improving the city’s infrastructure and public health services.
