Lawyers' Associations Protest in Coimbatore Supporting Farmers' Demands Against Central Government

Legal professionals under the banners of IAL, AILU, PUCL, and AUSJ rallied in Coimbatore, condemning attacks on farmers protesting in Delhi by the central government and urging immediate fulfillment of their demands.


Coimbatore: A significant protest was organized in front of the combined court complex in Coimbatore by various legal associations, including the Indian Association of Lawyers (IAL), All India Lawyers Union (AILU), People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), and Association for Social Justice Lawyers (AUSJ). The demonstration, held to condemn the central government's handling of the farmers' protests in Delhi and to advocate for the immediate implementation of the farmers' demands, saw a considerable turnout of legal professionals.



The protest was led by IAL District Vice President Comrade Arjunan, with key figures such as PUCL National Secretary Comrade S. Balamurugan, District Secretary Comrade Sekar Annadurai, AUSJ District Secretary Comrade Venmani, AILU District Secretary Comrade Jothikumar, IAL District President Iravi, and District Secretary Comrade Sakthivel, among others, participating. The demonstrators raised slogans against the BJP-led Union government, expressing solidarity with the ongoing farmers' agitation and demanding justice for their grievances.

This assembly of legal practitioners underscores the widespread support for the farmers' cause and highlights the critical role of civic and professional bodies in advocating for societal and political change.
