IT Professional Robbed of Jewelry in Coimbatore

Latha, a 47-year-old IT professional from New Siddhapudur, VKK Menon Road, Coimbatore, was robbed of her gold chain by a mysterious biker on February 18, with police currently investigating the case.


Coimbatore: In a distressing incident in Coimbatore, Latha, a 47-year-old IT professional residing in New Siddhapudur, VKK Menon Road, fell victim to a jewelry theft while walking on Siddhapudur Road on February 18. A mysterious individual on a bike suddenly snatched a 1 3/4 sovereign gold chain from her neck and fled the scene.

Following the incident, Latha reported the robbery to the Kattoor Police, prompting an immediate investigation. The police registered the case and commenced their inquiry, which included reviewing CCTV footage from the location of the robbery.

The examination of the CCTV recordings revealed that the perpetrator of the jewelry theft was Praveenkumar, a 24-year-old resident of Sowripalayam, Balasubramaniam Nagar. The police are currently on the lookout for Praveenkumar as part of their ongoing investigation into the robbery.
