No Weddings Allowed at Karamadai Aranganatha Temple During Festival Season

The Karamadai Aranganatha Swamy Temple, a renowned Vaishnavite shrine, has announced a ban on weddings from February 17 to 28 due to the Masi Maga Therthiruvizha festival, starting with the flag hoisting on February 18.

Coimbatore: In a significant announcement for devotees and visitors, the Karamadai Aranganatha Swamy Temple, one of the famous Vaishnavite pilgrimage sites, has declared a temporary halt on conducting weddings within its premises. This decision comes in light of the upcoming Masi Maga Therthiruvizha festival, which is set to commence on February 18 with the traditional flag hoisting ceremony.

The main event of the festival, the grand chariot procession (Thirutherottam), is scheduled to take place on February 24. To ensure the smooth conduct of the festival and to accommodate the expected influx of devotees, the temple administration has decided to prohibit weddings from February 17 to February 28. This move is aimed at prioritizing the festival's ceremonies and managing the devotee traffic during this auspicious period.

This decision was officially announced today (February 8), urging those who had planned their weddings at the temple during this period to make alternative arrangements. The temple management requests the cooperation of the public and devotees in ensuring the successful and unhindered celebration of the Masi Maga Therthiruvizha.
