Lorry Overturns in Sulur, Disrupting Traffic

A private parcel service lorry overturned near Kangayampalayam, Sulur, causing a temporary traffic disruption on the Trichy Road. The driver escaped unharmed.

Coimbatore: In an incident causing temporary traffic disturbance, a private parcel service lorry overturned yesterday morning while en route from Sulur to Palladam. The driver, 40-year-old Prakash, was at the wheel when the accident occurred near Kangayampalayam, Sulur.

The incident reportedly happened as the driver applied brakes to avoid hitting a car ahead, leading to the loss of control. Subsequently, the lorry hit the center median and toppled onto one side. Fortunately, the driver escaped without injuries. However, the lorry's position across the road led to traffic disruption on Trichy Road.

Sulur police later arrived at the scene and worked to remove the overturned lorry, thereby restoring normal traffic flow. The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictability on roads and the need for constant vigilance by all drivers.
