Coimbatore: In a significant development, Mathiyarasu, a 35-year-old ration shop salesman from Goundampalayam, has been arrested for embezzling Pongal gift funds. He was responsible for distributing the Pongal gift amount of Rs. 1,000 each to 841 beneficiaries, totaling Rs. 8,41,000.
