Traditional Pongal Celebrations at Kangayam Police Station in Tirupur

Kangayam Police Station in Tirupur district celebrated Thai Pongal in a traditional manner, with officers dressed in cultural attire.


Coimbatore: Marking the Thai Pongal festival, a special celebration was held at Kangayam Police Station and All-Women Police Station in Kangayam, Tirupur district. Led by Inspectors Kamaraj and Vijayalakshmi, the event saw male officers in shirt and dhoti, and female officers in sarees. Both premises were decorated with colorful kolams. Traditional stoves were set up and Pongal was cooked in clay pots, as all officers gathered to celebrate joyously. Assistant Inspectors Chandran, Karthik, Komathi, Mala, Baskar, and Sathiamoorthy, along with other Kangayam police personnel, participated in the festivities.
