Angalakurichi Residents Protest on Valparai Road Over 15-Day Water Supply Disruption

Residents of Angalakurichi near Pollachi staged a road blockade on Pollachi-Valparai road with empty pots, protesting against the local administration's failure to supply drinking water for over 15 days.

Coimbatore: In Angalakurichi near Pollachi, where over a thousand families reside, there has been a persistent issue of water supply disruption for the past 15 days. The locals, having raised the issue with the village administration without receiving a satisfactory response, resorted to a road blockade on the Pollachi-Valparai road with empty pots as a sign of protest.

The frequent water supply issues in the area have led the public to engage in such protests periodically, seeking temporary solutions to their ongoing water crisis. The recent road blockade significantly impacted traffic on the Pollachi-Valparai road.

The police arrived at the protest site and engaged in discussions with the protesters. They assured the public that appropriate measures would be taken to ensure regular water supply. Following this assurance, the protesters called off the road blockade.
