Cellphone Snatching Incident in Saravanampatti Leads to Police Investigation

Kumaresan, a resident of Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, became a victim of cellphone snatching while walking and talking on his phone, leading to a police investigation.


Coimbatore: In a concerning incident in Saravanampatti, 31-year-old Kumaresan, who works at a two-wheeler company in Chinnavedampatti, fell victim to a cellphone snatching. The incident occurred yesterday (Jan. 09) as he was walking and talking on his phone. Two unidentified individuals on a two-wheeler approached him and swiftly snatched his cellphone before speeding away.

Following the incident, Saravanampatti police have initiated an investigation to track down the culprits. The sudden nature of the theft has raised concerns among local residents about safety and the increasing number of such crimes in the area.

The police are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting inquiries to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. They urge the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities, as efforts to increase security in the area are intensified.
