Coimbatore to Host Special Camps for Medical Insurance Scheme Application

Coimbatore district administration announces special camps for public applications to medical insurance schemes, including PMJAY and CMCHIS.

Coimbatore: In commemoration of the centenary celebrations of the late former Chief Minister Karunanidhi, the Coimbatore district administration is organizing special camps for various government schemes. These camps focus on the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS), the Prime Minister's Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), the formation of self-help groups, and the provision of loans for small businesses under the Small Industries Department.

The inaugural camp was held yesterday in the 87th ward of the Kuniyamuthur area. Today, the camp continues in the same ward. Tomorrow (11th January) and the day after (12th January), camps will be held in the 88th and 93rd wards, respectively, followed by the 89th ward on the 13th.

These camps offer an opportunity for the public to apply for medical insurance cards, register self-help groups for women, and apply for small business loans. The medical insurance scheme allows a family to receive treatment up to ₹5 lakhs per year without any charges, covering over 300 diseases.

Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has informed that these initiatives are aimed at providing extensive healthcare and support to the citizens of Coimbatore. The special camps are part of the government's effort to ensure that the benefits of various schemes reach the grassroots level.
