Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner Imposes Fines for Construction Material on Roads

Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner, Sivaguru Prabhakaran, issues fines totalling ₹1,50,000 to two building owners for obstructing traffic and public with construction materials on roads.


Coimbatore: In an effort to maintain traffic flow and public safety, Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner Sivaguru Prabhakaran conducted inspections in the western zone, ward no. 71. During the inspection, two building owners were fined ₹1,00,000 and ₹50,000, respectively, for causing obstruction and inconvenience by storing construction materials on the road. The Commissioner ordered the immediate removal of the materials and instructed officials to strictly enforce penalties on any building owners causing similar disruptions in the city. This move is part of a broader initiative to ensure public spaces remain clear and safe for residents.
