DMK Organizes Community Baby Shower and Welfare Event near Udumalai as Part of Kalaignar Centenary Celebrations

In a tribute to Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi’s centenary, the DMK organized a community welfare event near Udumalai, led by Minister S. Sampath, focusing on empowering underprivileged women.


Udumalai: As part of the grand celebrations commemorating the centenary of the iconic leader Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, the DMK orchestrated a significant community Baby shower and welfare event near Udumalai. The event, held under the leadership of Minister S. Sampath, was dedicated to the empowerment of underprivileged women in the region.

Minister S. Sampath, speaking at the event, highlighted the numerous initiatives undertaken by the Tamil Nadu government under the leadership of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. He emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the lives of marginalized sections of society, particularly women.

In a symbolic gesture, Minister S. Sampath personally honored a group of expectant mothers from the region with a special recognition. These women were presented with a series of accolades, underscoring the DMK’s focus on uplifting women and ensuring their well-being.

The event, held in the Udumalai constituency of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, witnessed the active participation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. He outlined the government’s various schemes aimed at supporting economically weaker sections, particularly women. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of empowering women and creating a conducive environment for their progress.

Additionally, as part of the DMK’s initiatives, 100 underprivileged pregnant women were provided with community support in the form of various essentials. This endeavor aligns with the ongoing efforts of the DMK government to ensure the rights and welfare of women across the state. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing beneficial programs, including nutritional schemes, for women and highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to achieve these objectives.

Present at the event were Ilam Padmanabhan, the Southern District Secretary of the DMK, Anikka Gandhi, a key member of the organizing committee, and various DMK party officials and local leaders.
