Coimbatore Collector Kranthi Kumar has said that cycling competitions are going to be held in Coimbatore on the 14th to mark the birth anniversary of Perarignar Anna.
Coimbatore: The District Collector has invited participants to participate in bicycle competitions in Coimbatore.
In a statement issued by the District Collector, the Anna Bicycle Competition has been arranged to start in front of the Coimbatore Power Board office at 8 am on the 14th, pass through the RTO office, CBM College and reach back to the Power Board office.
It has been informed that these competitions are going to be conducted by the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority, Coimbatore District Division for school students.
Accordingly, 15 km for girls and 10 km for students below 13 years of age, 20 km for girls 15 km for students below 15 years of age, 20 km for girls 15 km for students below 17 years of age. It has been informed that the date should be submitted to the office of the District Sports and Youth Welfare Officer before 5 pm.
Also, to participate in these competitions, only ordinary bicycles made in India should be used and the first prize of Rs.5,000 and the second prize of Rs. 3000, third prize Rs. 2000, those who come in fourth to 10th place will get Rs. Prizes worth 250 rupees and merit certificates will be given.
